In the Bible, the New Testament makes it very clear that Jesus is the head of the church. He is the one we seek guidance and direction from. Jesus is the leader of our church so we strive to listen and to follow his direction.
Humanly speaking our church is lead by elders, deacons, and a leadership team.
The elders are the spiritual leaders of the church. Their primary focus is the ministry of the word and prayer. They serve as under-shepherds of Jesus, and like a shepherd their roles include nurturing and caring for the church, protecting the church against 'wolves,' and making sure the teaching from the front is not merely from the bible, but accurately communicating what the bible teaches.
The deacons are the servants of the church and handle more of the business and administrative aspects of the church so that the eldership can remain focused on the ministry of the word and prayer. One of their prime tasks is to keep the resources focused on tangible kingdom advancing efforts as well as doing tangible work among the most in need.
The leadership team is responsible for the practical ministries of the church. Things like Sunday service planning, cultivating bible groups and prayer times, and launching new ministry efforts. This team is the hand's on ministry team behind the church.
Brian Ingraham, leads the leadership team and is responsible for the vision, direction, and teaching of the church under the oversight of the eldership. As the founding pastor he has worked hard cultivating our church culture, calling us to become a people of the Word, a people of prayer, a people of holiness, a people on mission, who are together attempting to follow Jesus whatever the ask, whatever the cost.
