Prior to joining an U18’s team applicants will be required to:

  • complete an application form and provide details for two references

  • read through and familiarise yourself with the Re:Hope safeguarding policy

  • complete an application to the PVG scheme

Commitments and responsibilities of a leader

At Re:Hope we want to make sure kids love God and love coming to church. It is therefore essential that this is something you feel passionate about! Prior to any u18s activity starting, the team leader will delegate different activities that you may be responsible for taking care of throughout the session. We are eager for our volunteers to grow in this ministry, so if you have any particular training needs or areas you would like to develop (e.g. teaching) please let your team leader know.

We ask that you add your unavailability into ChurchSuite for each rota period, allowing us to put this together. It is your responsibility as a volunteer to be aware of when you are next serving, as well as organise any swaps or cover if you are unable to attend. There may be weeks when we need a volunteer last minute due to a swap/change, and we are therefore so appreciative of any extra services that you can help with.

On average volunteers serve one or two times per month, however there is the option to serve more frequently depending on availability.  Ideally, we aim to have a mixture of male and female leaders each week.

U18s Ministries

Crechè newborn - 2 years

Crèche is a safe and fun space with a team of dedicated volunteers who are ready to welcome your little ones and care for them during the service.

Crechèndo 3 - 4 years

At Crèchendo we want them to get to know the God who made them and loves them through engaging with bible stories by play, hearing stories and having fun with crafts.

Wee:Hope 5 - 11 years

Wee:Hope is church for kids. It is fun, high energy and a place where kids come to know Jesus personally. Each week Wee:Hope mirrors the programme of the main church, but in a kid-friendly style.  Wee:Hope, kids can see that the Bible is alive and exciting. They can see that the God who does amazing things in the Bible, is still the God we have today; He still hears and answers prayer.

Render (Re:Hope West End) 12-18 years
Our weekly teens gathering on Fridays at Re:Hope West End. We're inviting teens into a community to figure out how young people can  follow Jesus well in Glasgow by gathering together for worship, prayer, food, fun and the bible.

Youth (Re:Hope Southside) 12-18 years
Youth at Re:Hope Southside is focused on helping teenagers contribute to the church by growing in their giftings and passions through serving. We also gather together to have fun and grow in friendship with one another.

SAFEGUARDING

We believe it's important for children to learn about Jesus in a fun, loving and safe environment. Please read our safeguarding policy below and watch the safeguarding training video.

PVG

It's a legal requirement for individuals to be a member of the PVG Scheme when carrying out a regulated role with children. This means that anyone who is volunteering with children/youth at Re:Hope has to have a satisfactory PVG before they start.

Please watch the video for more information.
