This year during Fasting Week, myself and Beth had a list of prayer requests that we wrote down all linked to our impending move to Australia in June. All of these have now been answered including peace over finances, sponsored visas, a job for Beth that she loves, a car, a church, and a new home that we got accepted as tenants for within 24 hours — in a place where accommodation is notoriously hard to find. But the most specific answered prayer relates to my job.
After working in my specialty for over 4 years, I was wanting to keep this up in some way even though this is not really a thing in Australia, and there is very little Rheumatology-specific care. I was happy looking at general physio jobs, with the hope of maybe connecting with some national organisations that do rheumatology work. I applied for a few of these jobs and had some interest. I couldn’t believe it though when I opened an email from one of the clinics.
They couldn’t offer me the general physio role due to timings. Instead they asked if I would be interested in bringing my experience to the team, working mainly with Rheumatology patients in a new role that they would create, specifically for me? Why yes, yes I would. Thank you Lord.
After several emails and video calls, everything was settled, and we are now going through a new season of joy in our jobs for the first time in a while. We’re missing our Southside family but thankful for where God has brought us.

Resist the temptation to water down your prayers to something you think is more ‘possible’ for God today. Ask Him for what you really want/need, and wait to see how He answers.
