I am an only child and grew up surrounded by a lot of love from my parents. They provided me with a very good life and helped me become who I am today. However, my mother had a very difficult childhood, and that affected how she raised me, even though I know that was not her intention.
Our relationship became so strained over time that I prayed to God to help me love her. We began to drift apart, and I thought there was no solution.
This year, I went through an intense sadness, and people told me I needed to forgive. But I told myself that there was no one to forgive; everything was fine. Until God revealed all the past traumas and all the resentment, I still had within me.
I realised I had to forgive my mother, let go of the past, and move on. In a moment of prayer and surrender, God spoke to me and reminded me of Romans 8:1-4. He gave up His own Son because He had forgiven us. He forgave us, and we didn’t deserve it. So, when I spoke forgiveness to my mother in Jesus' name, all the resentment simply disappeared, and there was forgiveness and liberation.
We are human and vulnerable, but with God, we can do all things. Surrender your resentments, your fears, your request for forgiveness in prayer, and He will do it. In His time.
This is a message of a prayer answered.

Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight if there’s anyone you need to forgive today, and surrender what you need to to God today.
